- First and foremost (please don’t roll your eyes), DRINK WATER! Yes, when you work-out you lose water, you dehydrate, you think you’re hungry. YOU'RE NOT! You need water! 8 glasses a day, for goodness sake.
- Plan to exercise 30 minutes everyday. (stop laughing). It gives you cheat room.
- Stretching is just as important as muscle building and cardio. Ask any 70 year old who has been working out their whole life, you can tell.
- When you’re working a particular muscle and you feel it where you shouldn’t, most likely you’re not doing it properly. Which brings me to my next tip...
- Proper alignment is key to proper repetition for any exercise.
- Speaking of proper alignment, Pilates is a perfect way to learn about your “skeletal” self. It teaches you proper posture in all positions (standing, kneeling, tabletop, sides and face down) I highly recommend it.
- Yoga, another favorite. I call it therapy for the mind and body.
- Grab a friend. Having a partner to work out with is great comfort. IMPORTANT: make sure you're both on the same fitness train so you can positively motivate each other.
